Easy S'mores Dip

The boys love s'mores, and to be fair, so do I.  What I don't love, though, are all the steps involved.  The toasting, the roasting ,the assembling...  It's fine for campfire time but sort of a lot of trouble for a random snow day afternoon.

So I improvised.

And my new favorite thing was born.

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 cup chocolate chips (milk chocolate chips make it more authentic tasting, but I prefer semi-sweet)
2 tablespoons milk or cream
1 cup marshmallows (mini ones work best, but I was out so I used the big ones cut in half)

graham crackers, teddy grahams, pretzels or animal crackers for dipping

WHAT YOU DO:

Preheat the broiler on your oven to the highest setting.

Put the chocolate chips and milk in a microwave and oven safe dish, and microwave in 15 second increments, stirring between, until the chips are melted and it stirs smooth (about 45 seconds total).

Top the chocolate mixture with the marshmallows and pop into the preheated broiler for just a minute.  Watch it closely.  It really just takes a minute for the marshmallows to toast.  As you can see in my pic above it's really easy to let it go just a little too long.  Oops.

Serve with graham crackers, teddy grahams, pretzels or animal crackers for dipping.

YUM.
