Twitterature.

Although I'm a rabid reader and I love nothing more than discussing what I've read, I am not usually so great at updating my recent reads on the Library page of my blog.   Also, I tried Goodreads for about a minute until I realized that I wanted to go back and list EVERY SINGLE BOOK I HAVE EVER READ SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME and that seemed like a losing proposition on so many levels (but if I ever find myself laid up with two broken legs or anything it's totally on my to-do list, because how awesome would that be?!?!?!?).  Then I ran across the Twitterature linkup at Modern Mrs. Darcy and it seemed to be a perfect way to share what I'm reading and to find new books to add to my ever growing list of things to read before I die.

So here are my latest reads, Twitterature style.

Tell the Wolves I'm Homeby Carol Rifka Brunt

Grief is a funny thing.  Unlikely friendships can be healing.  Beautiful characters, beautiful story.  #NotReallyAboutWolves

Unseenby Karin Slaughter

Formula mystery/suspense at it's best. Will Trent undercover. Sara saves the day (of course). #IWillAlwaysHateLena #Cons&Drugs&BikersOhMy!

140 characters is not enough to describe this amazing, compelling, exquisite modern fairy tale.  Read it now. #READITNOW!

Look Againby Lisa Scottoline

Is that MY kid on the missing kid poster? Surely not, because that wouldn't make a very good book, would it? #SkipThisOne

Sisterlandby Curtis Sittenfeld

Dumb characters making even dumber mistakes. Very little ESP or otherworldly senses. #NotWhatIExpected #UseYourGiftsForGOOD

Next up on my to-read list are:

The Husband's Secretby Liane Moriarty

My friend Natalie recommends it and that's good enough for me.  #ItWillBeDepressing #SheOnlyLikesSadBooks

Me Before You was the best thing I've read in a long time. I hope this one is half as good. #JoJoMoyesForTheWin

And there you have it - my recently reads and my soon to be reads, Twitterature style.  What have you been reading lately?  I promise I won't hold you to 140 characters.

  1. I read a snippet of The Ocean at the End of the Lane and LOVED it! I need to buy it now and finish it.

I'll have to check out some of the other books you mentioned.... I haven't heard of them.

    1. Usually I feel like I'm not smart enough to read Neil Gaiman, but I LOVED this one.

  2. Kudos on sticking to 140 characters; I don't have that kind of counting skills! ;)

    1. I actually had to type them into my twitter page to count the characters for me - I tend to be way too wordy sometimes so this was a good exercise in restraint for me :)

  3. You pretty much just increased my to-read list drastically! I added most of these books to it just now. More JoJo Moyes? Yes please!

    1. Yes. I didn't even know she had a new one out until a week or so ago. I can't wait!

  4. I just finished Me Before You, so might look into her other book. I'm saving The Husband's Secret for a road trip coming up soon. And I can't wait to read the latest Neil Gaiman!

    1. It IS beautiful, isn't it? I've always been a fan of judging books by their covers.

  6. I wish I could remember every book I've ever read. There are some books where I can remember the cover and the plot, but title and author? No idea.

    1. I know, right? Wouldn't it be awesome to have a master list of everything you've ever read? I wish I would have started one when I was a kid. It's something a geek like me should have thought to do.

    1. It's really fabulous! Plus it's pretty short, so even if you don't love it quite as much as I did, it's a small(ish) time investment.

    1. It really was beautiful. I won't claim to understand Neil Gaiman's brain, but I did adore this one so, so much.

  9. Oooh! I jotted down a few of these titles. Collecting book titles to read is a hobby of mine. Now, if I could only read some of them...

    1. I have a list called "Books to Read before I Die." It's... extensive, to say the least. I DO read some of them, but I also add new titles at an alarming rate.
