Spicy Crockpot to Grill Barbecue Country Style Pork Ribs

Spicy Crockpot to Grill Barbecue Country Style Ribs.

Wow.

It's a mouthful just to say.

It's also a mouthful to eat.  A delicious, savory, melt-off-the-bones delightful mouthful.  A ribs-you-can-eat-with-a-fork mouthful.

[Printable Recipe]

WHAT YOU NEED:
2 lbs. country style bone in pork ribs
2 tablespoons grill seasoning
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 teaspoons (more or less to taste - I prefer more) cayenne pepper
2 cups barbecue sauce - my all time favorite is Sweet Baby Rays
water

WHAT YOU DO:
Rinse the ribs then put them in the crockpot with the grill seasoning, chili powder, paprika and cayenne.    Cover with water and cook on low for approximately six hours.  The ribs should be tender, but you don't want them falling completely apart.

Remove the ribs from the cooking liquid and place them in a shallow baking dish.  Cover them with the barbecue sauce and allow sit for at least an hour, turning occasionally to ensure they are completely covered.  You can also cover them and save them for up to a day in the fridge before grilling.

Heat your grill to medium high and grill the ribs 7-8 minutes on each side, turning once.  You want them to get a little black and crunchy on the outside.  Use the extra sauce for basting.

I feel strongly that the second step could be done in the oven with the broiler on high but I have yet to test that theory, so if you do and it's a smoky mess or something, don't blame me :)

Enjoy!
